Job Description: Tier 1 / Tier 2 Service Desk Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tier 1 / Tier 2 Service Desk Engineer to join our thriving and fast-paced Service Desk operation at our Derby office. This role focuses on delivering exceptional IT support to one key client with offices nationwide, while maintaining flexibility to handle other service desk tasks as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Incident Management: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues, including hardware, software, and networking problems.
- Microsoft 365 Administration: Provide advanced support for Microsoft 365 services such as Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Network and Firewall Support: Configure and troubleshoot routers, firewalls, and other network infrastructure.
- Azure and Entra ID (Desirable): Assist with Azure cloud services and Entra ID identity management tasks where applicable.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of incidents, solutions, and client interactions using ticketing systems.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to escalate unresolved issues and ensure seamless service delivery.
- Process Improvement: Identify recurring issues to recommend process enhancements or preventive solutions.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an IT support role within a service desk or managed service provider environment.
- Strong technical expertise in Microsoft 365 administration.
- Experience with networking technologies (routers and firewalls).
- Desirable experience in Azure cloud services and Entra ID.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across hardware, software, and network systems.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

- Familiarity with ITIL practices or similar frameworks is advantageous.
